Detroit Inspiration Station (Photos & Videos)
Need some ideas of what to write a letter about? We have you covered. Here are some beautiful images and interesting facts about our beloved Detroit City.
Don't hesitate to throw some ideas my way. I would be happy to add a picture or video of your favorite Detroit hot spot.

Twilight on Belle Isle
Belle Isle has a lot going for it…including great views of our beloved Detroit. Take a picnic basket and relax on a Sunday afternoon (or a weekday? I don't know your work schedule). Take a bike with you and enjoy the lakeside breeze going through your hair. If you wait around until twilight comes, you'll get a picture like this one.

The Spirit of Detroit - Original Love Spreader since 1955
Commissioned in 1955 for a cost of $58,000, then dedicated in 1958, you will find this stud of a bronze man resting comfortably on Detroit's Woodward Ave.
Quite the talented guy, he can be seen juggling a gilt bronze sphere (emanating rays to symbolize God) in his left hand, and a group of people meant to represent a family in his right hand.
His handsome, statuesque features were cast in Oslo, Norway before making the long trip overseas. To us, he is the original spreader of love, and Detroit is proud to be his home.

Detroit Masonic Temple
Detroit should be very proud, since it is home to the world's LARGEST Masonic Temple. Located in the Cass Corridor, this intriguing building houses three theaters, three ballrooms and banquet halls, and a 160 by 100 feet clear-span drill hall (in case you weren't sure what that was either, a drill hall is a place where soldiers practice and perform military drills). Plus it holds a variety of recreational activities, like racquet ball, bowling, and a pool hall.
Its architectural style is neo-gothic, and if you look closely at the Indiana limestone walls you will see sculptures that can only be described as beautifully creepy. The building is beyond impressive, and we all have Jack White and his generous donations to thank for keeping it alive.
(Thanks, Jack)
